Return-record comparability checker

Compare supplied issuer, event, period, currency, basis and status before describing a difference in percentage points.

Added 15 October 2026

What is compared

This worksheet compares each supplied return record with a selected baseline. Issuer, event, division, start date, end date, currency, basis and status must be present and identical for a pair to qualify under this narrow rule. Labels are case-sensitive. Different account IDs are allowed within the declared cohort, but matching labels do not establish that the accounts truly belong to it. The tool reports a percentage-point difference only for a compatible pair, including the baseline itself. It does not rank trader ability or choose which record should be trusted.

Unknown is not a convenient default

Use null for an unknown comparison key. An unknown field remains a missing-field finding even when both records omit it. The checker does not infer currency from a country, net treatment from an event name or final status from an old date. A missing required property is an invalid input rather than an unobserved financial value. Return percentages are required plain decimal strings. If the return itself is unknown, obtain the underlying record before attempting this numerical comparison.

Reproduce the fictional cases

Example A is twenty percent and Example B is fifteen percent with matching labels, so B differs from A by negative five percentage points. Example C uses another fictional currency and receives no difference calculation. Example D lacks a basis and also receives no difference. Controlled cases change B's issuer, period, status or currency. They demonstrate the rule without altering the others. None is an actual trader, competition entry or authenticated result. Changing an input label changes a declaration, not the evidence behind it.

Input and output limits

Supply version 1, a baseline_id present in the record array, and one to fifty records. IDs must be unique ASCII letters, digits, hyphens or underscores, up to sixty characters. Dates use valid YYYY-MM-DD values with end after start. Labels are limited to 160 characters. Returns permit at most six decimal places and range from negative one hundred to one million percent. These are software bounds, not a statement that such a return is plausible. Decimal arithmetic avoids binary floating-point subtraction artifacts.

Keep a portable review record

The download contains the original input, each pair's findings and the result's scope. An edited or invalid input retires the previous output and disables export. Imported files are validated before replacing the draft. Nothing is uploaded to the publication by this worksheet. The page does not store your input between reloads. Do not enter credentials or confidential information into a public browser session. A successful export identifies a performed calculation on supplied labels, not an audit of the source documents.

What remains unperformed

Source authentication, financial validation and investment suitability remain null. The worksheet does not verify account ownership, complete populations, fees, equity paths, leverage or event audit status. A compatible pair can still contain false declarations or incompatible economic realities. For a real review, retain authentic records and the actual accounting definition. The educational result cannot establish a combined portfolio return, future performance, product recommendation or the strength of any title already discussed elsewhere in the archive.
